Volleyball


Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams are required with six member in each team is required and both the teams are separated by a net in between. Each team tries to score points by grounding the ball on the other team's court under the rules of the game. It has been a part of the official game of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. 
The volleyball is originally called "Mintonette", the game of volleyball was invented in 1895 by William G Morgan. However, later Alfred Halstead  renamed it to volleyball as because the game was to volley the ball back and forth over the net.

Some of the basic Volleyball Rules:

  • There should be six players in each team in side of the net. In the front row there are three players and in the back row there are three players.
  • There should be maximum of three hits per side at a time.
  • Points are being made on every serve for winning team who gets the point (rally-point scoring).
  • One player cannot hit the ball twice simutiniously. And a block is not considered as a hit.
  • One can play the ball off the net during a volley and on a serve.
  • If a ball hits the boundary line then it will be considered as in.
  • A ball will be considered out if the ball goes out of the marked area or the volleyball court, also if the ball hits the ground then the points will be given to the opposite team.
  • If the ball is been hit by any part of the body then it will not be considered as out.
  • But if the player catches or holds the ball then it will not be considered, then the opposite team will get the point.
  • In the game a player cannot block or attack a serve from or inside the 10 foot line.
  • After the serve from opposite team the front line player may switch positions at the net.
  • Matches are being done on different sets and the number depends on level of the play. If there are 3 set matches then 2 sets of that match will be of 25 points and the third set will be of 15 points. Each set must be won by two points. The winner will be that team which has won 2 sets.

Positions of players in the Match:


There are some positions in every volleyball match:
  • Setter 
  • Outside Hitter / Left Side Hitter
  • Middle Hitter
  • Opposite Hitter / Right Side Hitter
  • Libero / Defensive Specialist
Each of the positions plays a specific, key role in winning a volleyball match.

CRICKET- A Gentleman's Game Captains of all the Teams As we all know what is cricket, as ofcourse it is a game and everyone reading this must have played cricket in his or her life atleast once. So, just to make it more interesting I will start by telling you about cricket. Cricket is a game played with a bat and a ball on a large ground/field.
