Kabaddi is a team sport which is being played between two teams of seven players in each team. The modern version of the kabaddi was founded in Maharashtra. Kabaddi has received International exposure in 1936 Olympics, demonstrated by India. The game Kabaddi was introduced in Indian Games in Calcutta 1938. Kabaddi is popularized by Sundar Ram of India in Japan, when he toured on behalf of Asian Amatruer Kabaddi Federation. 
As we all know that Kabaddi is a team sport. Two teams are on opposite side of the same field. They used to send one raider into the opponents half. This is basically done to gain a point, if the raider touches the opponent teams any player and come to his court safely then the person raider has touched will be out. And for gaining more and more point for their team one has to tackle the member of the opposing team. He used to hold his breadth and chants the word "Kabaddi" during the whole raid. It will be very interesting to know that the earlier name of kabaddi was Ha-du-du.
It will be very proud moment for Indians that the country which is best in Kabaddi with the present records is "INDIA" and India is on Rank 1 with 7127.6 points.


Rules of Kabaddi:


Kabaddi is played by two teams that both consist of twelve players each including the extra players. Only seven players in each team are allowed on the field to play at one time. The court in which the match has been played that surface measures 13m*10m and is separated into two halves by a white line, both teams were on the either side of the white line. The physical nature of the kabaddi matches are categorized in age and weight.


Things needed to play kabaddi:

  • Proper clothing (consists of half shirt and short pants).
  • shoes.
  • Arms and knee support.
  • Towels and water bottles.
  • And instant relive sprays.

Different types of foul cards in kabaddi:

  • Green card: An initial warning for violation of rules.
  • Yellow card: 2 min suspension from the game along with 1 technical point to the opposition.
  • Red card: 1 technical point to the opposition and suspension for the rest of the match.
